Shane Riner Earns Entry into Lucas Oil Dirtcar Series event at Screven Motor Speedway

Shane Riner and the number 6 team competed on Friday, April 4, 2008 at Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, GA for the $10,000-to-win Lucas Oil Dirtcar Series event.  Fifty-two cars were in the pits for the event, but Riner was able to qualify 11th fastest and earned the pole position for the third heat race of the evening.  Unfortunately, during the heat race, Riner fell back a few positions, but was able to hold on to third position at the finish of the heat race earning a ninth place starting position in the feature event.   

During the first few laps of the feature event, Riner spun coming out of turn four and had to re-start at the tail end.  Riner finished the event in the 18th position. 

Riner had discussed the possibility of running the Lucas Oil Dirtcar Series event at Golden Isles Speedway on April 5, 2008; however, the event was postponed due to rain and will be rescheduled for Sunday, April 6, 2008.  Check Shane's schedule for up-to-date information on where the number 6 team will be competing.  The Lucas Oil event at Golden Isles Speedway will be aired on Speed TV on a tape-delayed basis.

Shane Riner Finishes 13th At Fayetteville Motor Speedway

Shane Riner and the number 6 team competed on Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Fayetteville Motor Speedway in Fayetteville, NC for the first of the "Crazy 8 Series" events.  Twenty-nine cars entered the competition on Saturday at Fayetteville Motor Speedway.  Shane won a consolation race giving him a 17th starting position in the night's 25-lap feature event.  Shane was able to make his way up to the 13th position as the checkered flag fell over the field.  

Shane will be in competition this weekend, March 29, 2008, at the Carolina Clash event at Gordon Park Speedway in Grovetown, GA.  This will mark the first event of the 2008 season for the Carolina Clash Late Model Series and will mark the beginning of Shane's competition for the Rookie of the Year status with the Carolina Clash Series.  The previous two Carolina Clash events scheduled at Carolina Speedway and Lancaster Speedway were postponed due to weather.

 

Shane Riner Releases Tentative Plans for 2008

Shane Riner of Guyton, GA has announced that he will be seeking the Rookie of the Year title as well as the Point Championship for the Carolina Clash Series in 2008.  Riner and his number 6 team have been preparing their new Rocket chassis Dirt Late Model for the season opener for the Carolina Clash Series at Carolina Speedway in Gastonia, NC.  The March 8, 2008 season opener for the Carolina Clash will have Riner and his team competing for $5,000 during the 50 lap feature event at Carolina Speedway.
